Oil-Rubbed Bronze is a living finish that will develop its own unique patina with use. This hardware is actually a dark bronze finish over copper. The intent is that the outer finish will wear, allowing the copper to show through. No, the door panel under the sweep is not finished. There is not a need for this section of the door to be finished because it is not exposed to weather elements and is not a visible surface.
Use a premixed vinegar-based cleaning solution (or make your own with one part vinegar to 10 parts water), and apply to a soft, clean lint-free microfiber cloth or paper towel.
